Life

I have been busy. I’ve emailed Spilt Bloods sequel to the boss lady and now i wait on tender hooks while she reads and gets back to me. I’ve renamed it to ‘The Dark Side of Humanity’, and I really like this one, its got darkness, passion, hate, venom and death. It gets smoking hot in there too.

There is more information on the relationship between the Master and Joslyn. CLICK HERE TO GET BOOK ONE!!

I am also super excited as in two weeks I am meeting probably my first ever celebrity crush at Sheffield Comicon. I will be meeting Michael Biehn, the star of Terminator, Aliens, Navy Seals, and so much more as well as the basis for Detective Brooks in ‘The Dark Side of Humanity’, and I am so excited. There’s also the Game of Thrones throne, which is exciting for the three that are with me, they are huge fans, me, not so much.

But its going to be fun, my disability badge has arrived so that I won’t have to walk to far. EDS and insomnia sucks and make life interesting. my mind is constantly moving and thinking hard about things. It is more than a little interesting when I read things back that I’ve written in a sleep deprived state.

So a busy time for me at the moment, including writing. I’m currently writing Hell Hath No fury too, the main character is based on my Best friends daughter, (who’s only a few years younger than me), and i can wait for you to see either of these, I’m also doing work on Night of the Demons 2, an anthology I’m in and I’m super excited.

Hi Readers

Here’s another prose for you to get your teeth into.

Horror is the dark side of humanity

A way of watching things that scare us

Watching horrors in a safe and warm environment.

Tales of ghosts tormenting, haunting, possessing

Words to chill us to the bone

Films that you shouldn’t watch alone

Horror is the serial killer that’s never caught

Or it’s the one that was but ate his victims

A tale of bloody death, distraction and hate

It’s the ghost or demon possessing something innocent

Possessing a doll, child or virtuous woman

Tales of painful deaths that poison life

From the chilling tale of the exorcist

To the mildly humours Scream

People like the different change from a time gone by

Writing horror is a blessing  and it shows

Creating chilling worlds gives me a natural high

Writing dark tales of murder make me smile

Fiction is sometime adapted from reality

Tales from those around others who have lived through it

Survivors of such unseen horrors

Stick around to read more from my writing archive and over active mind. There is so much more to come.

Happy writing

Hello Guys

I know I’ve been quiet lately, I’ve been busy with edits and promotion. but I thought I’d check in and let you know whats going on.

Spilt Blood’s sequel is in the process of being edited and its coming along nicely. I’m also working on a few other projects that I can’t wait to share with you, when the time is right.

As the title of my  blog hints I am a dyslexic author and a published one. The fact that I have been published still makes me want to pinch myself. Whats even better is that, for both my published novels, I have received constructive criticism and some down right nasty reviews with nothing of feed back in it. Both have received four star reviews from NerdGIrls and they can’t wait to read more.

It is a strange thing that when you put yourself out there, regardless of the format whether it be writing, acting, youtube etc you leave your self wide open for scrutiny and there will always be, out there, people who want to do nothing more than break you down.

If I can, as a dyslexic person, have two books on sale with more to come anyone one can do anything, you just have to put the work in and stay dedicated to your craft and you will get there.

Stay tuned for more information coming soon!

Hello guys

I enjoyed taking over a friends face book fan page yesterday and I shared a lot on their, I will share some here soon.

I have been a bit on the busy side, yet again, with writing Dirty Little Secrets, Poisoned By Blood book two, rewriting the basis for book three.  I’ve also been working on a few anthology submissions on day when my body allows.

Being a writer has one main advantage, other than entertaining others, of being a writer is that I can pick it up and put it down when I’m having a good pain day or when I’m having a bad pain day. It helps that my publishing company gives me a lot of understanding. They don’t judge me in anyway. Thankfully I have an excellent and wonderful husband, a brilliant family and a good network of friends that help me along.

Hello Internet

I have been so busy of late, we have organised the study and thrown away so much of our accumulated crap and organise what we were keeping, I’ve also been working on anthology submissions, causing my brain to work over time.

Also I have rekindled my love of writing poetry and it has pulled me into a few different directions and one of my anthology submissions is poetry. I’ll be sending it this next week, keep your fingers crossed.

I’m also doing some stuff of an adult nature for anthologies. The plan is that if I get into a few anthologies that it will increase my visibility with regards to my other books. I’m working on anthology submissions until may then back to Spilt Bloods sequel and a project tentatively titled A Woman Scorned where my best friends daughter modelled for the book cover.

I am also thinking of reviving a few other projests though I don’t want to give myself to much. I love writing and my brain is constantly generating ideas, too many for me to keep up with.

Happy Writing and keep smiling

Hello Guys

Hope all is well. I have been working hard on Spilt blood and the stuff for the Halloween event hosted by my fellow authors at Vamptasy and CHBB. I am enjoying working hard and I’m promoting Shattered Souls in online groups with a hand full of posters. Here’s a taste.

I love them, I’ve done a few for the release of Spilt Blood but will release them on Halloween Night along with a little something extra. I have been looking forward to this release, I love the book and while there is a love story within it there is a lot of scary an paranormal things within and as the series continues things get sexier and darker.

I am also very humbled to have you all reading this and interacting. I’m hoping to do a blog only give away when the book release, I’m not sure of the give away yet but I’m looking forward to you all reading my new release.

Hello and welcome to Madness Monday

Well, what a difference a weekend makes. Over the last four day’s several things have happened. First was some sound advice for a fellow author into how to make the most of my brand, which is me and what to do.

So what have I done? I have created a logo for myself, and created a banner and put out feelers for some head shots and once response to my searched have given me cause some excitement, they also work as a journalist for the local paper here in York and he’s mentioned about the possibility of doing a piece on me. I also contacted my university to update my information and tell them a few minor things and they’ve sent me some stuff to full in that may end up on either the course booklets, promotional material and the website.

Also I have been introduced to picmonkey and I’ve been getting pictures ready for the Halloween even. I am thinking about sharing my pictures on here. Most are spooky and I have a few I love more than others.

Hello,

I know another post, so soon, shocker.

I am at college and my teacher has gone through with me another way of planning. It works and I always thought it would be contricting but it doesn’t feel that way. I can still add things and make things different but it helps me stay on target and get all information where needed.

Its quite nice, and freeing almost. It helps you also figure where the area of research are and where you need to have long sittings and short ones and which chapers are well packed and which need a little more surport. Will post details, where possible.

Hi readers,

Hope you have decided on your new years resolution before it’s time to put them into place. I have. I have decided that 2012 is the year I get my publishing contract along with getting married and moving into my own space with my partner. I also start my English course next Friday and I hope to do well in it too.

Right…. Time to address the process of building a character, as the better you know them the better you can write about them and their lives, their reactions and language.

This knowledge is deeper than name, date of birth etc… It is about their first love, their secrets, their fears, their past, every single little thing as the better you know them, the better you can write them.

Warning: only do this to major characters. Minor characters are nothing more than props and if they are not essential for the story then don’t give them a name, they don’t need it.

If you name a character you run the risk of getting attached. By all means the main characters are the ones which you should get attached to them and their lives regardless of genre.

If you write an in depth character profile then, please, ensure that it has no contradictions. I some times read a book and read the interactions of a character and then discover that they have issues with them and was left confused. A continuity issue, yes, but it may also be that the issue is something needed for the story and is decided upon later in the making of the book. I plan out all the major, must happen, events in the story and allow everything else to flow.

If you know your character well it makes them easier to writer and as a result easier to read.

Major characters: know them well.
Minor characters: the less we know the better.

Once I reword the character she I will put it on. Or I may put it on as is and quote where it came from if that makes sense.

Happy writing guys. Have fun on new years and check in soon. More treats are coming in the early part of new years.
