Hi,

When I say I have been busy is an understatement. I have finished Poisoned By Blood Book and I think I’ve decided on a title. I had decided on one title but it was too similar to a book I already have out and the second choice is one that seems to be popular so I have decided on another, a third and with a little luck it won’t be too bad.

I am already part way through the edits an then off to the boss it goes. I also have some good things planned, with a little luck I’ll be able to lock in London soon, just waiting on a few things to fit in to place.

I currently have my Mum on a visit and I’m knee deep in crochet products that I’m making that are gifts.

Add to that I am working hard on my YouTube Channel, both of them.

Yes I am a glutton for punishment and I know I’m taking on a lot but I record when I can’t sleep and write during the days, so I balance it out and don’t face myself with too much. I also go live on YouTube, YouNow and Twitch. Click for the channels and come and chat with me some time.

I do video’s about various different things and call out shadiness in all walks of like, YouTube and other areas of the Internet as well as other area’s of live, i.e government, healthcare and such. I did a video last week about a situation that Philip DeFranco, a good man with a good heart, brought to ever ones attention. I wanted nothing more than to reach into the screen and shake some sense into them. I had to talk about it, I couldn’t not. I was seeing red. Watch it here, Philips video’s are in the I card in the right hand corner as well as video’s from a few other creators.

I am not a drama channel as I couldn’t care less about some people, I tell the truth about things that affect people under age and those who don’t know better as well as telling my story when it comes to somethings I have seen and don’t agree with.

Sometimes I think people should pass a test for having a YouTube channel. I have around 5 video’s banked for while Mum’s over but I’ll still be editing the new book so I’ll be busy while she here.

Anyway that’s enough of me ranting. Click here for my books.

Have an awesome evening

Hi guys

I’ve been hard at and I am busy. With a visit from my Mum and the impending release has me finishing my work. I now have a beta reader and I love her for the help she has given me, she is awesome.

I am so excited about this, the things I have planned for this is immense and i really cant wait to show you what I am going to be making. The cover release will happen so and I know that it will be awesome as always, Rue is a genius when it come to covers and I love every single one she has done for us.

I also have some fun planned for Halloween. I’m always in a cave when writing and it sucks because I’m cut off from anything, I hate not being near my computer while the writing urge has me in it’s grips.

Six weeks until release day, six weeks, I still have to pinch myself when I see my books on out TARDIS coffee table and I really hope that I can continue to release books people want to read, I am working hard on several projects to get me into the minds of readers and I have some videos planned that will use my training and my liking of horror to take my YouTube channel into a few new directions. I really can’t wait. Just working on a few things I need to do before I can share but these next two months are going to be busy for me.

Have an awesome week

Simone

Evening everyone,

It’s Saturday and three days off my birthday, and I can’t wait. I am really looking forward to it and I have a little surprise in store but I’ll save that for the day but stay tuned.

Today I want to talk about allowing reality and real life events affect any story or book you want to share with anyone. Now this can be intentional or unintentional and providing there is no case for slander then, in most cases, it’s fine.

For example, in my next installment of Poisoned By Blood I have mentioned and had some involvement with a real admitted serial killer that has been dead for nearly thirty years. The  serial killer in question is one of the most notorious and vile of the subgroup within society. Because he is a person that was and that he confessed to his crimes I am not slandering his character so I wouldn’t be at risk of being sued by his family.

There are traditional media programs that also do this, a perfect example is the central character of Murdoch Mysteries, William Murdoch, is based on the real life Ontario Provisional Police John Wilson Murray.  There is also, Call the Midwife, Orange is the New Black, Band of Brothers, The Tudors, Boardwalk Empire, and The Secret, all based in some way on real events that have happened in the past. There have been movies based on serial killers, along with real serial killers influencing people to create memorable fictional killers that we all know and love.

There are times where it happens without people realizing that they have done it. I am quiet good at note doing this. The only time I’ve let a person I know influence a character is one of the characters in my latest release, the person I am basing the character on knows and is fully aware that I am doing it. The same lady is going to be on the cover and allowed me to use a few of her little quirk, only a few, have made it into the books but this was purposeful and I love the way that the book is looking and I can’t wait to share it with you, I really can’t.

So overall, you can use real people in your fictional books, if it is people that you know get permission before you go ahead, if it is someone who’s in the public eye such as a celebrity, serial killer, etc then it isn’t too bad. So many writers use actors to decide the physicality of a character but the behavior and such are built separately.

Have an awesome weekend.

Happy Saturday

I thought I’d check in and let you know what’s going on with me. Twisted Coven’s release is happening soon and I can’t wait. I am looking forward to sharing it with you guys.

Twisted Coven is the first book I ever completed and I was thrilled that my publisher loved it as much as I did. there’s two two more in the series and there are two more in the Poisoned by Blood Series. Yeah, I’m keeping myself busy.

One thing I have noticed, and I know I’ve said this before, that with each book I learn more and more. I’ve learn what my bad habits are, such as repeating myself, sometimes I slip up and use British English terms and words when my books are set in American English and I don’t always catch them. I also some time have too many characters of the same name.

I’m lucky that I have an awesome Editor that helps me translate things into American English and without her I would be lost.

What are you’re bad habits?

What are you’re dreams when it comes to writing?

Have and excellent weekend

Happy Sunday

Each writer has their pwn way of doing things and their own process in writing and I am no different. I’ll give you a few things I do.

I do a chapter plan, now this isn’t set in stone and it isn’t something I stick too should the story in my mind take another path with the story. This is something that helps me plan the idea out in my mind while I’m deciding on characters and the interactions within the story.

My first draft is written by hand, yes I know, it’s not efficient but its how my mind works. Writing it straight on the computer makes me constantly rethink things. I like writing the first draft by hand as it makes my creative juices flow more than typing things. Also, I usually write late at night and looking at a scene when you should be sleeping is not goo for anyone’s health.

I then type up the first draft and make changes where needed and add any additional chapters that will add to the story and the sense of apprehension or what emotion I want the book to emit.

I do edits on the computer, I did do it on paper put this was a waste of paper, ink or money. I will do it for short stories and such but not full-length novel.

I can plan three or four books ahead. Although book two has only just been released I already have book three of Poisoned By Blood planned and I know the general plan for book four that ends the series. I also know the next two book that will follow my impending release of Twisted Coven and how the trilogy will end.

If you want to know more about my creative process just let me know, I’d be happy to share.

Hi Guys

I have had a two week break from writing, i needed it after six months of edits for both Dark Side of Humanity and Twisted Coven that is being released next month so once Twisted went to the editor I told my self it was time for a two week break.

I will say it was hard, very hard, to resist just doing one chapter, writing that chapter plan or just doing that one paragraph. It was unbelievably hard but I managed.

With each book I write, with each book that gets signed I learn more, I know my habits, I have a tendency to repeat things, I have a tendency to capitalize the first word after speech, I try to not do it but I do have a tendency to write said even though it is one of the worst things to do.

Hello

It’s the dreaded beginning of the week.

I’ve been hard at it with one release imminent and another a little over a month away.

I love writing, it’s a good way for me to explore my creativity and explore my mind and the twisted tales it creates. Once Twisted Coven, the White Witch Trilogy, is with my awesome editor I’m going to have a week or two break from writing, if my brain lets me, and then back at it.

I am working on five books after these two releases which are the continuation of the Poisoned by Blood series, two more books in that series. There’s the continuation of the White Witch Trilogy along with ‘Hell Hath No Fury’ which is something that I’m looking forward to sharing with you guys.

There are more projects than them but they are the main ones that are current works in progress and taking up my time.

I love that I can share these with you.

Happy writing

Of any of you have read any of my earlier blogs you’ll be aware that I suffer from depression as well as various other things but this I concentrated on depression.

There are days where my depression can wrap it’s self around every part of me and pull me into a dark it and while there are days it paralyses me, there are days it won’t let me sleep and there are times where it feeds my writing.

Most of my writing is very dark and sometimes my depression acts as a secondary muse and fuels various tales. It’s strange, I get that, but it works.

I was diagnosed with depression in February of 2009 when my Ehlers Danlos kicked into overdrive but I knew the ‘sadness’ was there for as long as I remember. I was, like many others, in denial about it and I refused to ask for help.

Now I’m medicated and it helps but there are days, usually days where my pain levels are sky high where I am reluctant to get out of bed unless I have to. It’s not healthy, I get that, but the dark hole is just too big and those are the days were food doesn’t matter in the slightest; I am consumed by the black hole inside of me.

I am writing this to tell those who have depression that they are not alone and that the days where the sadness isn’t paralyzing that it’s possible to achieve things. Look at what I’ve managed to do, I have two books out on sale, a short in an anthology that is selling well even though it was only released on the 18th. I have two releases coming up early next year and I have four other books that my publisher wants plus a few others that I’m working on.

Yes, I have depression

Yes, I have meds for it

Yes I know I have it

Yes I live with it

I won’t let it define me

I won’t let it control me

I won’t let it win

I won’t let it beat me

There may be days where it fogs me up

There may be day where it conspires against me

There may be day it won’t let me sleep

There may be days it makes me want to hide

I love

I laugh

I fight

I win

And a side night, you can have depression and laugh

I am blessed that I am surrounded by people who care about me and make me feel safe.

If you think you have depression please speak to you doctor. Don’t wait until it’s dangerously bad before you ask for help or do something you can’t undo.

Let’s fight against mental illness in all its forms and stop the stigma attached to it.

That’s enough rambling from me.

Happy Wednesday.

Simone

Life

I have been busy. I’ve emailed Spilt Bloods sequel to the boss lady and now i wait on tender hooks while she reads and gets back to me. I’ve renamed it to ‘The Dark Side of Humanity’, and I really like this one, its got darkness, passion, hate, venom and death. It gets smoking hot in there too.

There is more information on the relationship between the Master and Joslyn. CLICK HERE TO GET BOOK ONE!!

I am also super excited as in two weeks I am meeting probably my first ever celebrity crush at Sheffield Comicon. I will be meeting Michael Biehn, the star of Terminator, Aliens, Navy Seals, and so much more as well as the basis for Detective Brooks in ‘The Dark Side of Humanity’, and I am so excited. There’s also the Game of Thrones throne, which is exciting for the three that are with me, they are huge fans, me, not so much.

But its going to be fun, my disability badge has arrived so that I won’t have to walk to far. EDS and insomnia sucks and make life interesting. my mind is constantly moving and thinking hard about things. It is more than a little interesting when I read things back that I’ve written in a sleep deprived state.

So a busy time for me at the moment, including writing. I’m currently writing Hell Hath No fury too, the main character is based on my Best friends daughter, (who’s only a few years younger than me), and i can wait for you to see either of these, I’m also doing work on Night of the Demons 2, an anthology I’m in and I’m super excited.
